Jon D. Guarino

Owner/Administrator

After taking the exam to become a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 1976, Jon Guarino began his career working for Kenoza Nursing Home Group as a comptroller for five entities. Jon has been the owner/administrator of Lakeview House Skilled Nursing and Residential Care Facility for the past 34 years.

Lakeview House has had 10 “deficiency free” surveys by the Department of Public Health over the past 14 years. His leadership has enabled the facility’s outstanding relationship with state agencies, particularly the Department of Public Health. Under his stewardship, Lakeview House has achieved consistently high state ratings for its top quality care, earning the respect and longevity of his staff; many enjoy more than twenty years of service.

Since 2001 Jon and his nephew William Grimes have also owned and operated Baker-Katz Nursing Home in Haverhill.

Jon graduated from Haverhill High School in 1967. He attended Palm Beach College in Florida and the College of Emporia, Emporia, Kansas. Jon received a Certificate in Gerontology from Northern Essex Community College in 1976.

Jon is a member of the Massachusetts Senior Care Association, American Health Care, and the Long Term Care Finance Association.

Jon is also associated with Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School. For many years, he has offered students from their Certified Nurse’s Aide Program on-the-job-training at Lakeview House. Some of these trainees have become full-time employees of the facility upon completing their education.

He is a long-time member of the ARC of Greater Haverhill (an association for people with intellectual and development disabilities), and has been their lead fund raiser, sponsoring an annual golf tournament at the Haverhill Country Club. Through his work with the ARC, Jon and his wife Kathy have received acclamation from state, local, and federal authorities.
