Kathleen Dusombre, RN

Kathleen Dusombre is Director of Nurses at Lakeview House. She began her career at Lakeview House in 1996 as a charge nurse. She moved quickly up through the ranks and became Assistant Director of Nurses in 1997. Her dedication, energy and quality of care were recognized, and Kathy was promoted to her current position in 2001.

For the past eighteen years, she has worked tirelessly to ensure superior care for all the residents at Lakeview House. Kathleen oversees the care of 26 skilled nursing residents and sixty-five rest home residents at Lakeview House. She supervises all aspects of nursing care. She coordinates with all of the medical professionals at the facility, including the medical director, optometrist, dentists, podiatrist, occupational/physical and speech therapists, mental health clinicians/psychiatrists, pharmacist, and the lab and X-ray service technicians. Kathleen is responsible for the hiring and scheduling of all nursing staff. She also coordinates a program of Group Adult foster care services for residents in the Rest Home.

Kathleen is also the Coordinator of Admissions, responsible for pre-screening potential new residents’ clinical information and clinically assessing their care needs. Many of the residents have both medical and cognitive issues. Therefore Kahleen coordinates services with Lahey Health Behavioral Services, an outside psychiatric team providing services for Lakeview House residents. She is available around the clock, and is responsive to any issue that may arise. She manages and coordinates fifty staff members to ensure continuity of care and smooth interaction among staff, residents, and their families.

She is responsible for an outstanding record of accomplishment with the Department of Public Health; her tenure at Lakeview House has resulted in routinely high state survey scores.

Prior to pursuing a career in nursing, Kathleen worked in the banking industry as a Human Resources Coordinator at Family Bank in Haverhill. She also worked at Andover Bank in Andover.

A graduate of Masconomet Regional High School in Boxford, Mass., Kathleen attended Northern Essex Community College and achieved an Associate-in-Science Degree in Registered Nursing. Kathleen also has earned a Bible College Diploma from Faith Bible Institute. She is a very active member of and Sunday school teacher at Lifeline Baptist Church in Haverhill, Mass.
